Hi all,

I have tried everything to get the game to stop with the control lag. Weirdly it only happens on the actual game. I can control the menu just fine but actually playing the levels is a problem. It's impossible to play as I keep overshooting everything. I press jump and he jumps a second after I've pushed it. Is there anything that can be done to stop the lag? I have a Windows Vista btw and a GeForce 8200M G GPU so I should have no problems. I have also tried turning off VSync, scanning for viruses and have updated the drivers for my GPU and can't think of anything else.

If it's not lagging in the menu, my guess would be that your laptop is to slow.

What are your exact system specs?
How much fps are you receiving? (can use fraps to see this)
Have you tried any other game in XNA without experiencing input lag?

Model: ASUS notebook F5GL series
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T3400 @ 2.16GHz 2.17 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
System type: 32-bit Operating System
Windows Edition: Windows Vista Home Premium

FPS is around 65 on the menu screen but 17 on the actual game levels according to FRAPS.

I haven't got any other XNA games but the other games I have like Portal 2, Amnesia, Limbo and Penumbra all work fine so it is probably specific to this game.

17fps is really low and most likely the cause for your input lag. (Should be constant 60fps)
Have you tried turning of Gore and Effects in the options menu?

It increased to about 27 fps when I took off the effects and gore but I think my computer might be the problem. It's okay to play at 27 fps but I don't know how to speed up my computer. It's been running slow for a while. I can download this game on another computer if I have to buy a new one, right?

Yes, it will work fine on a new computer, just download and install through Desura.

I was experiencing the lag, did the virus check- no virus. After I read this I turned off gore and it runs smoothly now. Out of curiosity I decided to run FRAPS to see what FPS I was getting. With gore on I was at about 25-30 without gore I was at 60. Anyway, my question is, why does gore eat up so much FPS? I mean, I play iRacing.com with pretty decent graphics settings at like 50fps.

Hey Drummerman,
We are currently working on releasing a big patch sometime in March that will make the game much smother on low/mid end pc's.
In it's current state it's a bit too heavy on the graphicscard.
