BIONITE: Origins™ is an upcoming, futuristic, first-person shooter & real-time strategy hybrid for the PC and iOS platforms. The core gameplay consists of piloting hovertanks in first-person, destroying other tanks or structures, commanding your squad to attack/defend certain targets, and a full strategy mode with base-building in the Strat game-mode.
With the recent success on Kickstarter, Platoon Studios has big plans and can now move forward on finishing the game.

For those of you who don't know much about BIONITE: Origins, you came to the right place. Our goal is to offer something new and refreshing in the game industry.
For the people curious about the Free Multiplayer Give-Away--all you have to do is head over to our Facebook Page and Like us. Also be sure to leave a comment here stating you Liked the Facebook Page. We want to give all of our fans here the chance to play the Multiplayer for Free. What you will receive is the Free Multiplayer Game (when it's finished), a Player Profile Page, two months Free subscription for the Ranked Servers. The Ranked Server subscription includes the Persistent Worlds, Stat Tracker System and the Command & Ranking Systems. This will all be accessible through our website eventually.

Nice to finally meet Dan, so what is BIONITE: Origins in short?
Thanks Jake, BIONITE is a First-Person Shooter/Real-Time Strategy Hybrid which the focus will be on hovertank action and base building. We will have a variety of game modes online to satisfy the hardcore gamers and the casual gamer who just wants to get in on the action and blow up other hovertanks online.
Our focus right now is building, completing and releasing the Multiplayer. Singleplayer missions and online co-op is also in our future plans. A couple wild cards may be up our sleeves too!
What game modes will the Multiplayer have?
Team Deathmatch, Free For All, Strategy, Capture (think of CTF) and Siege (Offence vs. Defence). That's all we're announcing for now.
What planets will you be able to play on and explore?
The Moon, Venus, Europa and Mars. We decided to focus on just four planets to make sure we execute the enviroments to perfection. We continue to research each planet to make sure we have an accurate depiction.
Why are you guys making this game?
The game industry hasn't seen too many of these types of games--they are few and far between. Many have tried and failed. Our team consists of hardcore Battlezone (1998) & Battlezone II fans and our goal is to keep the spirit of these games alive. It's great what we are capable of doing these days with the technology that didn't exist 14 years ago.
How is your team building this game?
We're using the Unreal Development Kit, it allows us to do everything we want to do.
Where will people be able to play this game?
We plan on releasing the game through Steam. It's an amazing platform and fits our mold perfectly.
A lot of people have been calling this game Battlezone 3, is this true?
Haha, good question. In short: no--though our team has anxiously been waiting for a sequel to Battlezone for a very, very long time. I think it almost happened awhile back, but Atari backed out at the last minute. We love the idea of outer-space, hovertanks and we absolutely love the FPS/RTS Hybrid genre--so why not create a game with all that?
What makes this game different than other games that competed in this genre?
We feel some of the games that dived into this genre were either ahead of its time, had poor marketing, didn't execute the HUD/Gameplay or just combination of some or all of the above. We have done research and listen to the feedback our fans or other fans of this genre to make sure we do this the right way. We like to think of this as a community project and our fans have been overwhelmingly supportive.
When do you expect the Multiplayer section to be finished and playable?
We're aiming for later this year.
What's the status on the Open-Beta? We've been hearing about it for ages and it keeps getting pushed back!
An announcement on the Open-Beta is coming soon, we apolagize for the delay. Some other things have come up along the way, but we're going to be announcing an official date on that very soon.
