This game is just a mess. After half a year it's still broken and DICE continues to mock the ire of its own fans.

After one broken game after another, I'm just going to outright stop buying their broken ****. At most I'll await the reviews of the upcoming Battlefront, otherwise I'm entirely done giving EA my money.

18.03.2015.
After I bought basic version of BF4 for 10€. I started to play it more and now after playing MP more deeply, I have a new review.

Campaign: Bugged and it's very boring, I primary completed it for MP unlocks. There's nothing there that would make me want to play it again.

Multiplayer: I like weapons and how some weapon classes can be use by all soldier classes. It makes it good and interesting to play. I also like that you can't replenish grenades from ammo crate which in result stopped grenade spam (Finally). Also I like sniper bullet drop and being able to set range. I highly dislike advantage of higher level players when comes to vehicles, they have unlocked gadgets that have an edge over a new or low level player. Also now you need almost 4-5 AT shots in order to destroy a tank (you have max 5 rockets with higher level specialisation). Weapon usage/stats are almost the same, so in CQ use >750 RPM in open maps <750 RPM.

Graphics/Engine: Colors preset just look too much cartoonish for my taste, not to say that soldier "glow" in dark so that makes it even more cartoonish and kills the fun. But even if soldiers "glow" you can't see their textures because they are dark and very badly done, in BF3 changing a soldier texture was a very beautiful feature, here you'll be using default one because all other ones are mostly ugly. Soldier hitboxes are bugged or just made bad, shotting at someone and game not registring a hit when comes to some body parts. Net code problem, still there, not as it used to be but still there, (BF3 has almost perfect net code). Comparing BF4 with BF3, BF4 demands more powerfull PC and in return graphics looks simple to say worse and this new engine version is unoptimized and has memory leaks and long map loading time. The so called "levolution" is one giant pile of poop. Comparing BF4 with BF3 and BFBC2, BF4 has almost no destrucion, why because it's not about triggering a one larger destruction of some map object, it's about changing the shape of battlefield during the gameplay, here you don't have it. So in BF4 lot's of building/objects CAN'T be destroyed or damaged. Their "Levolution" is just another pile of poop.

I personally prefer BF3 over BF4 in almost every aspect. I don't recommend BF4, buy BF3+premium and enjoy. BF4 is too much arcade in every way. Disaster.

After all those patches, this game is in excellent state.
The graphics are stunning and the dynamic gameplay is amazing.
The singleplayer also gives you more freedom to explore the world and to use vehicles that you'd like to use - like the BFBC2 did.

It is, now, also very similar to the BF2 in some points. For example:
With all the DLCs, you have access to the 30 maps (just like the final version of the BF2).
There are 3 basic factions (again just like those of BF2 but there is Russia instead of MEC, however their equipment is almost the same).

I'm not saying that it is neccessary for such game to look like it's "ancestors" but if you compare it to the BF3, it has much more content and it, now, also contains some core components that players liked most in the earlier Battlefields.
Hopefully, there is going to be another Battlefield as good as this one or even better.

Review updated after fall 2014 patch:Even after the launch of the community test environment, a place where game improvements can be tested more quickly, BF4 is still in a bad place. The Fall patch reduced all weapon damage by 1, which would be fine if headshotting were rewarded at all. Right now the strongest weapons all have ridiculously high ROF, and when coupled with the proper attachments and the game's minimal recoil, become pure laser guns. In short, infantry combat's devolved into a spray-and-pray fest.

Vehicle combat is still not nearly as entertaining as in previous games. DICE implemented a rock-paper-scissors philosophy in regards to vehicle balancing, which results in stale gameplay. When I die in a vehicle, I don't feel that I've been outplayed, but rather that I've been destroyed by a nearly unbeatable "hard counter." The ground vehicles themselves have a rather poorly thought out unlock tree, as the majority of unlocks are never used once the final ones in each category are unlocked. Tanks feel less like tanks, and more like disposable killstreaks thanks to the ridiculous number of infantry gadgets that can damage them. Aircraft are in an especially poor state. The Attack jet is strong to the point where it can almost instagib tanks, but is hard-countered by the stealth jet. The stealth jet's sole purpose is to shoot down the attack jet, and is almost useless against any ground targets or the scout heli. The Attack heli is a glass cannon. It's slow, unmaneuverable, but packs incredible firepower. Sadly, due to the mobile AA and the prevalence of infantry anti-air rockets like the stinger, the attack heli is a deathtrap. The scout heli, with its two passenger seats and high agility/speed, feels more like what the attack heli should have been. With two engineers repairing from the passenger seats, it can tank insane amounts of damage. They're nearly indestructable on the level of the battlefield 2 US transport heli with engineers repairing it. Lastly, the mobile AA's been tweaked to the point where it either instagibs aircraft or is utterly incapable of stopping them.
Naval warfare, one of the most hyped parts of BF4, is utterly lacking. Boat combat boils down to which vessel can hit two TV missiles first.

As mentioned above, BF4 is less about skill and more about avoiding hard-counters. In some cases, DICE SE actually nerfed skill-based actions. A key example would be how heli TV missiles can no longer kill aircraft in 1 hit, and how headshots aren't rewarded.

Classes and weapons have less distinction than ever before. 3/4 of the classes can equip anti-armor gadgets, where previously only the engineer class could. Carbines are now multiclass weapons,so the class-specific weapons are now rarely used.DICE SE appears to have gone the "COD" route with gadgets- adding in a ton of equipment that give easy kills with little to no risk to the user- drones, remote mortars, etc. Lock-on missile launchers are powerful enough that there's no incentive to use the slightly harder-hitting dumbfire rockets. Lastly, the addition of high magnification scopes such as the 40x "hubble telescope" provide high incentive just to camp back in the mainbase and snipe. The current class design just kills teamplay.

Map design is terrible. The majority of maps have no flow, poor cover, few flanking routes, and far too many places for people to camp on roofs where they're extremely hard to kill.

Commander mode, although back in BF4, is tacked on and fairly useless, as the majority of players simply ignore orders.

For those that want to play single player, forget it. Apart from the first mission, the campaign is extremely generic and utterly forgettable. The ending feels very similar to that of Mass Effect 3 (A choice that doesn't really affect the ending in any way).
In short, avoid this piece of rubbish at all cost

Someone some time ago got into my account and posted something here and elsewhere that was not me. I had nabbed the other post but not this one, which I just stumbled upon.

For the record I have multiple days logged into this game on PS4, as my account BFSP_MCR can attest.

This is a great MP game, the SP is interesting and better than BF3's SP, but the SP isn't amazing.

The engine is gorgeous, the controls excellent, and the gameplay furiously fun.

I give it an 8 because it lacks MP bot support and modability.

Could be less lag with low profile video card playing on based very low graphic , only 15fps with Radeon HD5450 GIGABYTE (...) :/ 1 GB VRAM

Ahhh, here we go again reviewing this.
In Hardline i mentioned pop-corn,so go and get it

Singleplayer,where difficulties are complete opposite
Hard is Easy, you just being hit 3 times and then HP restores in 5 seconds
Easy is God Mode, its a miracle if you die there. You can knife every enemy without any problems.China allied with Russia as enemy is awful, story being boring and fight scenes taking either 50 seconds,or 50 hours because of Titan Soldiers spawning with MG's or undestroyable tanks/targets.Bugs all the way can be found, like Shanghai, were you fall to infinite because textures didnt loaded,or falling under the boat at the very end of the mission, making you return to last checkpoint.

Multiplayer, litterally full with sh*tbuckets and raging.Release of this was completely unforgiveable.Bad Netcode and very sh*tty hitmarkers made the gameplay so painfull, that could make you destroy your PC equipment in place.Premium servive is now meaningless, giving away PAID DLC for FREE,where some users spent 20 to 10 $ for them, giving a slap in the face, even for premium ones, only 3 DLC's remaining at their use.Microtransactions for those Battlepacks are awfull,so EA could get easy cash as Valve with Cancer Strike.

DICE LA saved Battlefield 4.I will never forget what they done for this series, saving it from becoming the end of Battlefield franchise.

In 2014 this would have 2/10,but ive changed my mind.
7/10 for this failed, but fixed project. All claps goes to DICE LA

CTE is the only working Battlefield 4.But you have to buy Premium

Very Awesome Graphics and amazing warfare sound, but come out with not different gameplay from the old battlefield and a bad story / dialogue make this game "Great but not that Great"

It's pretty good, but it needs some serious reworking.
