If I can run it on my laptop, so can you. If you can run Portal, you can definetly run this. 1000 triangles for a model is still considered low poly in the standards of PC gaming.
Look at Kurok, it's models were 1000+ triangles and it still ran very good on the PSP.(Just an example)
yea but quake tends to waste resources whereas source is an updated engine that is more polished than quake
