Apocalypse Not is a very ambitious game. It aims to bring FPS/RTS/RPG and survival horror elements all into one game… And to well, actually not have it suck. The basic concept is that you are a survivor in a randomly generated city trying to rebuild civilization or to just survive long enough to escape. To rebuild you’ll need to find and recruit survivors in order to defend your territory and fortify new areas. Each area you fortify will provide different bonuses. For example a power plant will activate the power grid providing light during the night hours along with other added bonuses. Capturing houses will provide places for your survivors to live and allow you to recruit more. Farms provide food and the police station will probably have some weapons and ammunition. The game is currently free in it’s Alpha state, and I plan to release a new update every week with something new.
Alpha Version 0.0.18 of 'Apocalypse Not' was released on Sunday and features several new additions and fixes to the previous version. If you haven't already downloaded the game you're missing out.

After another week of development 'Apocalypse Not' Alpha Version 0.0.18 was released. A whole new set of features including better zombie AI, a new building type to explore, and both 32 and 64-bit versions were added. A full list of the new features can be found at the Official AN Website.
For those of you new to the game, AN aims to provide a new open world survival horror experience. Your task is to rebuild the city you've wandered into by rescuing survivors, and putting them to work fortifying the existing structures. The game will combine elements of FPS, RTS, and RPG's into a hopefully perfect mix.
As the game is still in Alpha, many features are still not active. However, each Sunday a new version is released containing new weapons, buildings, and features. If you haven't already played the Alpha check it out and support the game by visiting the website and the YouTube Channel.
