New High Score! Thread - Alpha Squad

With the release of the new patch I can now successfully say that I have beaten the held record in arena mode. I can offer tips to those looking to aim for #1! Just ask. I believe my score is at about 150k. I wanna see someone beat it though!!

Geez, i'm always impressed when people actually survive that long in Arena.

To share your score with everyone who plays the game, leave your game on the main menu screen. When someone logs in to play Alpha Squad, in the background the main menu screen searches for open Alpha Squad sessions and compares/transfers the highscores between Xboxes.

Currently the new high score is 211,150 and is held by Cryomancer 2. In the next patch coming out this week, he will have the default highscore above John McAllister. If anyone manages to beat that one, I'll put you guys on top of the highscore list by default next time ;-).

Oh I never knew that about the main menu, but yes I have motivation to go out there and beat that score again!!

Just played for a good amount of time. Got 436,700 points.

It has my last attempt also.

I played Arena for over two hours.. maybe if I drop another two hours I could surpass one million points. Four hours is awhile though!! Hardcore arcade action though. :]

Thats pretty amazing.

I already have my current patch in review so I cannot remove it and add your score in at the moment, but if I do another patch later I certainly will (if you are still on top).

Right now you can just share your score by leaving your Alpha Squad game on the main menu and when players start up their game, it will search for the top score lists of other players.

Well if someone takes the challenge.. I'm down to go for one million! Completely killed my hands playing today though. I almost kinda feel bad for making someone go through the pain of first place. I love the game though!! Haven't beaten single player yet, but I did complete it on co-op. Look forward to future updates. Maybe for the future Arena patches you could add some challenge rounds. Maybe patch what I call safe spots. ;]

When I was talking with John McAllister he mentioned that most of the skill when playing for arcade record scores is within the first few rounds/levels once you get the rhythm going. Afterwards its just a matter of human endurence to keep it going for a long number of hours.

Every game is going to have some sort of strategy to exploit the system or AI no matter how good you make it, but the real skill is to continue doing it for as long as your body/mind can handle.

A million points would be insane though, I would have to do a blog post if you hit that one ;-).
