The DEFILEMENT OF HONOUR was different, being equipped with a still functioning engine room of sorts, as well as an ancient navigational computer in control of its course programmed distant millenias ago.
The Blood Angels observing it knew that this hulk represented a threat only as long as it was under its own power. If the engines were shut down and its progress through the warp stopped, the DEFILEMENT OF HONOUR could then be examined at leisure and then be destroyed. No longer such a threat, the Genestealers could be methodically tracked down and slaugthered with ease.
Further scans of the ship provided details of the internal configuration of the vessel and the number of Genestealers present. There appeared to be two seperate groups of aliens at different ends of the hulk. A brood centered on the engines would be a problem for the troops sent to shut them down, but a larger group congregated at the nav-comm was even more of a threat. If these were allowed to reinforce the beasts at the engines, the operation would surely be doomed..
