Camera Controls

To begin development of Aftermath, we have started with camera view and controls - creating a camera style we feel is right for the game. The game has a third-person perspective which will look over the shoulder of the player. There are two main control elements to the camera - zoom and side. The zoom is intended to be useful for greater accuracy with weapons. The ability to switch the side of the player where the camera is allows the player to be able to look around walls from either side, giving them greater view of the battlefield.

The controls at the moment allow one button to toggle the side, and another to toggle zoom. Having these four camera views gives the player a greater view of the battlefield and more control over the character.

Other News

We have also made a start on some small concept maps showing the style and theme of the game. This is just very early in concept so that we all understand what sort of style we are aiming for.

What's Next?

We are currently working on creating the right movement speed, jump height etc. We will also be adding a movement speed decrease when using zoomed mode (which will be posted later when it is complete).

More News Soon!
