What is “content-lite”?
A “content-lite” MMORPG is an MMO with a lack of content. These kind of MMORPG's aren't popular for obvious reasons however they are simple, which Adventure World is aiming for.

Story?
Since Adventure World is a content-lite MMORPG the story won't have as much of an impact on the game however the game will have a story that evolves as the game goes on with a new story being started with every “major patch” (the staring major patch being “The Lost Realm” which will start off Adventure World).

Open-world Dungeons
The majority of the early level dungeons will be open-world so that new players won't turn away the game because of the difficulty of the game from the very begging and since I'm not expecting the game to become popular in any way possible it will allow players who haven't found a group to do dungeons with to enter a few dungeons and enjoy one of the major mechanics in MMORPGs.

Instanced Dungeons
As the played advances in the game they will notice less and less open world dungeons as the game goes on.

Quests
There will be a few quests in most zones however since the game is content-lite there will be a noticeable lack of quests as compared to other MMORPGs however all in-game quests will be related to the game's story at that time.

Permanent Death
A major mechanic in the game will be death. The game will have a permanent death system where the player will die once they run out of “resurrection stones”.

Homes, Farms and Kingdoms
In the game players will be able to buy a house which they may upgrade to a farm and earn money which they may upgrade to a castle which allows them to own a village, raise taxes (which allows the player to earn money) and battle with other player kingdoms.

Jobs
In the game players may get a job which will earn them a little bit of cash.

Mercenaries
In the game players may hire a mercenary to aid them on their journey. This feature will be implemented mainly due to the expected lack of players.

Already Established Guilds
Due to the permanent death system in the game it would be pointless to have players make their own guilds so the game will come with several guilds for the players to choose from.

Hybrid Class System
Players will be able to mix and match abilities, skills and spells from several different classes which in a way will let a player invent their own unique class.

Battle Grounds
There will be several massive battle grounds. The first one which will be introduced in to Adventure World on its release will be the capture the flag battleground which will have an entire in-game country devoted to capturing the other teams flag.

Completely free?
Due to the expected small player base and the fact that it's aimed at low end computers, Adventure Worlds is expected to be completely free (no monthly payment, no micro-transactions, completely free) and will rely on donations and other means of getting money for the servers.

Here are the patch notes from the recent patch:

-4 out of the 8 races included (Humi, Gnome, Dwarf and Elf).
-6 Zones (Tutorial Island, Barbaric Lands, Main Island, The Jump Event Zone, League Of Fate zone)
-PVP Enabled
-Quests (Over Population, To The Barbaric Lands, 97 Problems, The Other 2 Problems and Kill Ogmere).
-Hybrid Class System
-Spells (Fireball Rank 1, Heal Self, Heal Others, Charm Creature)
