I have an AMD Duron 700MHz, a 32mb GeForce 2 mx220, 596mb ram, with win xp pro...and in GTA3 I get beyond shitty FPS. Anyone have a suggestion? I can usually fix these types of things, but I'm out of ideas now. |

lol tw13ve and 40ozFreak - wat motherboard u running? wat speed ram? and wat res/colour settings u running in GTA3? even on my AMD XP 1600 (1.4Ghz)/EpoX 8KHA+ motherboard/256mg DDR/32mg Asus GF2 GTS my frames can lag a bit, esp when it rains n stuff --

Well my 2ghz P4 with a Geforce 4 MX with 256ram It doesnt lag abit I get a constant 100fps usually in VS and CS, but the hi-res hossies take it down to 85. -- Why wont it save me? |

i cap my HL at 85fps cos i turn vsync on when i play CS (have to use refreshlock to boost the refresh rate in CS to 85Hz tho otherwise its 60hz hence 60fps) - without vsync i get 90-100fps P4's are generally better for gaming - plus the GF4 you have will also be a bonus i think the reason my computer aint running as good is because of the video card holding it back - the GF2 GTS is the old version of the GF2 Ti, and while its better than the MX series, i reckon a GF3 Ti would do wonders in improving my comp - but there's always that naggin problem of money --

Money is the tool of the devil. However I turned vsync off and get a better fps, but I see more tearing in textures if I turn around quickly; which you do alot in Vampire Slayer. I think I'm going to turn it back on :o - Edited By azz0r On Sun 2nd, Mar 2003 @ 11:29:00am -- Why wont it save me? |

I have 133mhz ram speed, and the motherboard I am not sure, it's whatever came with my presario. Yes, I know that Compaq is no good, but my mom used to work for them so we got a killer deal. sounds like u've got a bodgey video card... a common thing that occurs is they proprietry companies just throw in a dodgey shared ram video card and call it "3d acceleration" --
