XVc Thread

I just downloaded the XVc patch but it asks me what program I want to use to open it. Do I need to download something else first before I can run this d2 mod?

I'm not sure what you mean (not very computer literate, can just do basic stuff). All I know is that I hit the "download now" icon in this link, Moddb.com , and when it was done it said windows couldn't open it and asked what program I wanted to open it with.

That's a .RAR file which is like a .zip file. You'll need WinRAR to open it, there's a free trail, just google it for the download.

I downloaded WinRAR and now I have a window with all different stuff. Do I extract and if I do where do I extract it to?

Yes extract all the files, where is up to you.

I have extracted the files into their own folder. What file am I supposed to copy into d2 and how do I do it (sorry for all the questions but I'm terrible when it comes to stuff like this). Also, can the account be banned for running this? If so is there a way to make another copy usable with this as I don't want to lose the accounts I have on d2 associated with my existing cd key.
