Xenosaga Thread

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Xenosaga, and I've been seriously considering going and getting it. But I figured I'd ask my fellow gamers here at the DB what they thought, particularly JD because he says he played it through.

How's the story? Does it falter or lose interest?

What about the graphics and presentation? How does it look? Often times screenshots don't convey the true look of the game because of coloration problems and such.

One more, how long of a game is it?

Well all i can say, is that i was hooked from the 1st scene. The animations are smooth and SEXH great voice overs, Story is unbelievably perfect planned out. Characters are original battles are fast paced and exciting.

The only part i dont like are the mechs in the game, which are called A.G.W.S. (anti gnosis weapons system) if you played xenogears like i did you get used to those not these piddly littles things... and when the characters call them out in battle it sounds like "Transmit EGGs(A.G.W.S.)"

Yeah I remember Xenogears on PSX, I loved that game. That's why I have an interest in XS. So the A.G.W.S. aren't as intimidating and cool as the mechs from XG? Damn.

nah not at all, the A.G.W.S. are pretty mellow compared to the gears from XG. And like in XG you used the gears constantly and hell you fought the last boss inside them... well most of the other bosses too. but the A.G.W.S. are fairly useless, you can get by any battle without using them, and calling them in usually just makes the battle last longer than by attacking normally

Aw, that's a shame. Otherwise the game sounds like a winner. Is it a buyer or a renter?

Continuation of the Xenogears story from PSX.

not really, because xenosaga takes place a couple 1000 years before xenogears. In the Xeno trilogy, there are 7 games xenosaga being the first and xenogears being the 7th

yeah cause when you beat xenosaga, it asks you to save so you can use the progress on to the next one

Oh I never beat Xenosaga, I got rid of my PSX before I got to the end of it.
