Hello, I'm brand new. I know very little, well next to nothing in programing (can do/use forks and use variables but that's about it for now, and maybe integrate an all ready made script and adapt it a little by trial and error) I've used and made a small rpg with rpg maker 2k a few years back. And now I would like to make another one. using engines with more capabilities. I would do for now a game more like a gardening game (A bit like the harvest Moon series, just less painful ;) . Not too much like those on Facebook with stupid timers. But more with fun Rpgs elements, I didn't planned EXACTLY what will be included since I don't know what capabilities the engine have in the first place. I thought of something like gg Maker since it's like the rpg maker series And I would be all ready familiar with it, But If you got a better idea for very good reasons I'm here to listen. I can't evidently start from scratch with C++ I'll die before I'll compile my first 4 bits file lol. So any other insight would be appreciated. (Doesn't have to be a free engine, well as long as it's not 300$ or that I can legally publish the game afterward). Brief I'm open to many things for now.

Sincerely thank you in advance for your time,

Megaverserve

You could try Unity or Unreal Engine. They are was on the coding sides of things and not that expensive.

hey are easy on the coding side*

*they.

Lol thanks, I've seen with unity you can make really beautiful games, I'll need to see a review on video of it, Surely I can find this on youtube. So i'll check it out.

RPG Maker XP?
There are even more new versions (VX/VXA) although I don't exactly like them though.
Or you could wait for the upcoming Rpg Maker MV.

Yeah I did try all the rpg makers but they are quite limited and you can't really get outside they're parameters without some pretty heavy scripting so that in the end you should of squarely started from scratch, besides it's purely for RPGs and that's it. Maybe the MV would have more up to date and fun things but for now I would like more diversify tools. And I've checked Unity ...jeez 1500$ or 75$ a month. That's frankly abusive. (for my point of view at least, no need to debate this other then I could use the free version for now). Well if there's other suggestions I'm still listening ;)

I'll verify by that time gg maker AND i'll check the top 100 engines to see if there are engins specifically for androids or windows phone That would be mighty useful.

Unity is free, as of Unity 5 all features are available for free as well.
With 1500$/75$ you get some extra stuff, like removing the Unity logo from the startup.

I got Clickteam Fusion on Steam and it looks like a good joice for RPG games, however you'll have to make all the rpg mechanics yourself so a real rpg engine might be better.

Why are you afraid of scripting? if you can't code then you'll have to script. There's is no one click dummy game maker.

Yes Draakhex I realized this a bit late but still If you ever want to publish your game you'll need to by a license or evidently get sued or something :/ I still downloaded it since it's really awesome (Watch the 2 hours presentation on youtube). seems promising up to now.

And OrangeNero, No i'm not afraid to script, I just know what i get myself into and alone you can admit it's a hardship. Thanks for your answer though I'll look up your suggestion.

Look the answer to "Can I make commercial games/content with Unity Personal Edition?" on Unity3d.com

The Witch Engine sounds awesome. Was it created by pagans?

Understood Draakhex, Thank you very much, And lol dreamland i'll check the engin out ;) there isn't a free version of gg maker out there huh ? didn't find either a torrent version (just want to see what are the limitations and all, check the options, see in general how it works and especially see if it will be an easy tool or not.

I'd say up to now, unity looks quite promising. But i need tutorials for everything, but rpg maker is quite easy in comparison and is easier to recognize immediatly what you are doing so i thought gg maker would be similar, guess i'll have to youtube a review :/ .
