What happens with all the HL2 mods now? (Forums : PC Gaming : What happens with all the HL2 mods now?) Locked

When HL2 was announced, it seemed like the entire population of ModDB announced they were changing their mods to HL2. Now that the game is delayed for 6 or 8 months, what are the Mod teams doing?

There is no SDK release right? How does anyone work on the mod? There is no way to know the modeling or texturing or UVMap requirements. Can't start mapping without a map editor.

Everything has been so quiet on the ModDB and the commercial game front. Most of the games I was looking at were trashed in the reviews.

I'm bored. ;)

HL2 might not be delayed, I personally still think valve is 3 weeks of announcing its goldness - CZ might get in the way of that though, definetly this year though.

As for mods, things are abit iffy due to the leak, personally Its kick started PS development.

and anyway, mods can get down to some serious pre-development shat like websites, backstory, concept art etc.

after seeing the leak, I imagine it will be a few months before the game is released... mostly because it's still far from finished.

as for mods... I imagine the leak actually helped modders start their HL2 mods.
