Hello dear developers,

my name is cr4nkz and when i last modded something that has to do with Source, it was GoldSrc way before Steam was born, so thats the reason i would need a general briefing on things and how they work nowadays.

Our idea is, that we want to make mod based on Counter-Strike: Source but with a lot of improvements, to make it behave like CS 1.5. We want to bring back that edgy but integer competitive-feeling, maybe you could call it: ProMod or something. We really badly want to make a balance between the look of CS:S and the accuracy and hardness of CS 1.5.

Question 1: Rights and Copyrights
We want to make our mod as an improvement of CS:S but also a stand alone which will be (maybe for money) released in Steam. Is this even possible or what do we have to watch out for?

Quesion 2: Source SDK
As far as i have seen, there are different builds selectable in the Source-SDK menu. Which one is the right one for us and why? Should we make a total conversation? What would be the best option for us to jump in, if we want to have the most control to options and "mod-a-bility".

Question 3: We need team mates
Most of us (3 now) have a deep passion for the old Counter-Strike, eSport and competitive gaming. To make this project come true, we would like to find skilled people in the following skill fields: Coder, Animator, SDK-Expert, Integrator

The Coder if possible, should know how to code C++ for source.
The Animator should provide life into the models (rigging, armature) that i would create in blender for example.
The SDK-Expert should have the knowledge and skills to overwatch, integrate and maintain the data-structure of Source and maybe provide general help with the environment of the engine. As an Integrator we see skilled people, converting various data-files into source-compatible files, such as models, textures, codes and so on.

I know, threads like this have all of you seen before a hundret times but we really want to make this happen and we're old enough to know, that we will not be able to create a whole new CS with just like five people. Were from germany, but it really is okay for us if you come from, where you come from So to end this post, i really hope to find some people to work with us, that want to bring back the skillful CS again.

best greets, cr4nkz!
