One of the worst annoyances of video gaming is designers who interrupt the players' immersion in order to remind them "Don't forget, it's only a game!"These cute gimmicks don't improve the players' experience; they harm it.

Just FYI:

The error in firefox is that firefox is still using the old v2 css from your cache, therefore you can fix that by pressing ctrl-f5.

Problems with Firefox 1.0.7 for Ubuntu Linux (it's specifically built for this distro) with the mod tabs you've been so keen to brag about (they're awesomly cool :D)

Plus a minor "wtf":

Navigate to any mod, then to the "News/Features" tab. At the top, it says
"No Features Posted
This mod has no related features. To view features for all mods click here."

It looks as though "click" and "here" are in one word:

This isn't new, but this typographical error still needs fixing. [ Recipient(s) ]

Recipitent(s) *
Enter members nicknames separated by commas (i.e. INtense!,john, sam etc...) to send the message to them. If you do not know the members exact nickname, search the database!

I'm not a big fan of the new colours. The new layout is growing on me but I'd like an option to change the colour scheme to give me a darker background for prolonged mod-browsing that won't tire my eyes out so much! Maybe dark red or black for the forums, news announcements and mod profile backgrounds.

[Edit] Just noticed another one. When I posted this I was told:

[...] you are been taken to it

Surely this should be 'being taken'.

On Firefox 1.0.7 for Ubuntu Linux, "user agreement" in the footer is displayed in two lines, making the footer table (yeah yeah, I know it's css...) double the height.

Every time I post a comment in the News using Opera, I have to hit refresh after clicking "Post Comment" in order for it to appear. I don't know if it's an issue with the browser or the site, but I'll post the problem here anyway.

Now when I'm browsing forums, I can see when a new post has been made in a topic, say General Banter but all the folder pictures look the same instead of the nice blue folder saying me a thread nas a new reply. T_T

I've found that a problem on previous versions v1.5 and v2 on some comment pages, I can't see it being resolved, as I think it's opera's fault, mind you, it only happens on this site.

I have this problem with Firefox and it wasn't until version 3. T_T It's not really a big deal but it just annoys me. I feel like the main forums page tricked me.

I'd just like to say that since my first impressions (seen above) I'm finding the site layout much more accessible. Here are some things I like:

Frontpage:
- Latest feature articles given a place on frontpage. Now I actually take time to read them and post in them, and I never have to worry about missing them as they creep down the news page and into the archived section. The MOTM and 'Surviving Next-Generation Modding' features are well written and have produced very interesting discussion. I'm glad they're now given pride of place in the top-centre of the screen.
- Mod news now displays the Mod name which links straight to the Mod, as well as the news title which links straight to the article itself. Now I don't have to perform a mod search when a new Mod crops up that looks interesting, I just click on the Mod name. This also means newsposters can devote more space in the title to creating interest, it no longer matters if you mention the mod name in the title or not.

Member Profile:
- Tabs for my profile. Now I can go straight to the information I want. I can concentrate on my Mod profle and watched Mods, my tutorials and newsposts, or my help wanted requests at the click of a button.

Mod Profile:
- Visiting a mod profile will give me direct access to the gallery, newsposts and help wanted sections. The only thing I don't like about this is that help/wanted no longer appears immediately on the Mod profile. If it were also displayed in shorthand format on the side bar I'd have no complaints.

Posting:
- Post reply button suitably sized and coloured to make it stand out (no more lost posts/wasted time/infuriation)

Colour:
- The colour scheme's growing on me, but I'd prefer the option to personalise it with darker tones.

it only happens for the comments page with me though, so it sounds like something different is coded with comments vs the other forms, even the forum, so logic dictates there's a fix. </spock>

Yeah, the forum is fine because it redirects to a "You have posted your post, congrats, well done, you're brilliant" nice patronising page, then takes you to your post at the bottom of the forum :P

Comments on the other hand..don't redirect in opera :/
