I'm running UT2004 Editor on Win2k (the best OS evar!). When I go to save my latest incarnation of my map, the editor just exits out (faster than I've ever seen anything exit). I doubt it even had time to write to an error log. I can't imagine what my variables are, since the last save I only compiled some additions and subtractions of brushes.

The weird thing is, even if no changes are made to the file, and I just "save as" newName, the editor exits out. Meanwhile, if I compile and play the map, everything works (more or less).

I imagine someone would have to have experienced the exact same thing to be able to solve this one. Any on-topic help is appreciated.

Something related to "collecting garbage" process I guess. If it can be opened, try exporting it to t3d and opening the t3d in notepad, then import the map back.

I'll try, thnx...

What sorts of things should I be looking for in notepad?

I went back through earlier saves, I think the crashing can be attributed to grouping certain textures into new groups, but I'm not sure (I've since reverted to an earlier texture pack). In certain instances I'm getting varying results without having changed any variables that I'm aware of. I'll open a map, compile it (without having made any changes) and sometimes it will save and sometimes it exits out.

Before reverting to an earlier texture pack it would compile and complain about missing textures, but only some of the time.

Everytime, however, I get an error message saying "ladder not in ladder volume", and no matter how often I delete it, it always respawns on compile.

?!?!?

EDIT
----------------------------------
Ok, after deciding that it was the missing texture that was causing probs, I tried re-texturing each offended brush with a diff texture. That didn't work. Then I tried to re-import the missing texture into the package. That didn't work.

After opening the t3d I noticed that the specified missing texture had an additional space after its' name. I found each instance and replaced it with a diff texture and then re-imported it. That did the trick! :)
