Hi All,

My name is Geoffrey Sinn Chun Hou, and currently putting together an AR game for mobile. I'm working together with a coder and a 3D generalist, while I handle the Graphics, UI and 2D animation elements. It'll be great if you guys can give us some comments and opinions. :)

TheGarrisonAR CMPC 1

TheGarrisonAR CMPC 2

TheGarrisonAR CMPC 3The cool thing about this game is players will get to play together in the same space in real time, and work together to complete a level or defeat a boss. Players of each class will need to play different roles during in a level. Melee like swordsman will need to go near and attack/tank, archer will need to stand back and attack the enemy's weak spots, wizard can cast spells to assist other players. This is why AR is so important in this game because the players will need to move around to play, we will get to register the distance between players(mobile phones) to the monster(AR Marker).

I am working on the design documents now, and still develop the game play. Adrian the coder is working on the engine while Willy is working on some early 3D assets for test play later. Feel free to comments and let us know what you think! I'll be posting our progress from time to time. :)

Thanks and stay awesome guys!

We started by trying out Unity with Vuforia plugin to run a simple AR test. Adrian has included some buttons to interact with the 3D model (Free asset from Unity). There are still a long way to go, but at least now we get to know how it works. :)

Meanwhile, I quickly came out with a mock UI on the battle game play. Hopefully it'll work well with the gaming experience.

Willy on the other hand, found a troll 3D model to be used in our next test. Can't wait until we put together a proper test!

Hi Guys!

Here is a little update on our progress for the game. Willy managed to get the model ready for Unity and Adrian did a good job on adding in the health bar and making the enemy interact with the players. Now with each tap, the health of the enemy will reduce, and it'll be defeated when the health hits zero. I think this is what we need for the basic game play. What's next will be trying to make this into multiplayer mode, where there are 2 or more players interacting with the 3D model. Stay tuned!
