After the recent pre-release leaking of two majorly awaited games; Halo 2 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, InXile Entertainment, developer of the upcoming RPG "The Bard's Tale", have taken this stance:

Interactive entertainment developer and publisher inXile entertainment today announced that it is considering some form of leak of The Bard's Tale, its eagerly anticipated action-role playing game (RPG), as a strategic plan to follow a growing trend among Triple A games.

"The Bard's Tale is a highly original game in the same category as a Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Half-Life 2 and Halo 2 so we feel some sort of leak that sounds similar to what they have experienced may be the next logical step in our launch plans," said Brian Fargo, founder and CEO of inXile entertainment. "Of course we would immediately condemn the leak and make every effort to stop it if we proceed with it."

It's a bit old, and the game officially comes out tomorrow, but nonetheless it remains an interesting article. :)

Well if game companies could reach their projected release date on time they wouldnt have to leak :P How about you just not tell anyone about a new game/mod and just release it out into the public thats exactly how HL1 was done and it was crazy, everyone fell in love with it :P

That's funny. It would be even funnier if they actually did it . I am tired of these kids leaking games now. What is the purpose? I'm sure somewhere, somebody thinks they're the coolest people ev4r!1!! But most gamers find it bothersome and cruel. Developers generally put a lot of hard work and dedication into making a game great, and to have some little douche bag ruin everyone's anticipation is lame.
