Well as I'm sure you all know, task.force was released today for half-life uno (1) <disclaimer> I downloaded the mod this afternoon, it weighs in at about 110, good size for a mod. hopped on steam, to the news a new cs:s update is tomorrow, but that was irrelivant, noticable immediately (faster than you can say halo2istheshit) is that it is a CS clone. 2 teams, pick your 'realistic' arsenal, follow objectives. hell, even plant bombs. you're going to get sick of the music VERY fast, it's not bad, but its not good either, you dont want to be listening to it for more than 3 minutes. the gameplay itsself is essentially CS, but better, it could use a few more weapons, but then again what couldnt. you respawn after about 25 seconds of death, unlike in cs where you wait for the round to end. the biggest difference in T.F is gas grenades, yup, gas grenades. you might think this is unfair, untill you check out the accessories screen and get the gas mask, yup. the graphics are great for the hl engine, the sounds are supurb (with exception of music) and i reccomend trying it at least once, the maps are also some of the best i think the community can offer there are a few things i would do better in this mod though 7/10 in my book |

task force isnt too bad, it could be better. their are too many gadgets and the config is confusing, u have to bind like almost all the keys on the keyboard to something. other than that its pretty alright, i wouldnt say its a cs clone because its not fast paced like cs, but they couldve did something other than bomb plantings, its a bit cliche. its more of a pubbing game than competition. |

im going to go download it and check it out now....i didnt know that much hl games had multiplayer servers anymore.. update: i just played a few minutes of it and its good. there arnt any crosshairs and moving around needs to be fixed, but its not the final release. its hardly like cs. you get to hold much more weapons and you dont have to pay for them. you also spawn in 10 seconds. thats not all but im too busy to talk about it anymore. i recomend it to anyone who reads this... david, its a little more realsistic to have crosshairs in real life there are none :-P moving, simulates the swaying back and forth, side to side |
