Hello Everyone,
I have currently started a mod and it has been going at it for about 3 and a half weeks now, we currently have a pretty stable team and are making very good progress, but we are still in need of a few more people for our staff.

With that said, I am looking for:

Character Modeler
Character Animator
SoundFX Designer

2D Designer (Character/Model Skins)
Map Designers
Static Mesh Designer

Web Designer - Must be fluent with multiple codings, and can do graphics

You can contact me at:

Email: gundam@to-source.net
Msn: slowejr@gmail.com
AIM: ScottyLoweJr
IRC: irc.gamesurge.net (#to:source)

Thanks for any help and all of the support!

Embers: Tactical Ops is a game yes, but on a very old engine. So we have decided to improve on it by moving it to a better engine. Of course the original tactical ops was on the UT99 engine, so I was in favor of moving it to the UT2K4 engine. But we decided to go with the HL2 engine due to the humongous player base it will bring with it. Since UT2K4's player base is so small it made no sense to keep it on that engine.

Nemor: Im sorry about that. My name is Scott Lowe 'Gundam.'
I am the founder of the mod and I am a mapper. Im also learning a bit of coding here and there, and am going to start taking classes. But as of now I dont know very much if any.

Anyways, thanks for the replies, I wasnt sure if I would really get anything or not. We are still looking so if anyone finds themselves interested, please direct yourself to me so we can get things figured out.

Again, Thanks!

UT2004's playerbase isn't small...and since TacOps is very similiar to CS, your going to get far less players on HL2 than on UT2004 due to CS's huge player base that aren't going to go anytime soon.

By all means, stick with UT2004. It's easier to mod and the player base, relative to the number of mods, is much better. What ShortCutMan said about CS players is very true. There were a lot of HL mods released after CS I'll bet you never heard of. You'd have better luck getting a Vegas showgirl to give up her fake tits, than getting a CS player to play something else.

Well the truth is... that we have many CS players on our mod team, and MANY CS players supporting our mod. So I dont see what you guys are saying as true. Thanks for your input though.

Also, we are not targeting the cs community, we are basically targeting old TO players, we would love if more CS players would come to play, (may or may not). But the hl2 engine is much more user friendly than the ut2k4 engine, which means more people can play, which in turn means more player base. We really thought about it before we chose our engine, we see this as the most suitable engine for our users.

Once again, thanks for your input, and once again we have thought about it deeply, but we will stick with the HL2 engine.

We are still looking for:

Character Modeler
Character Animator
SoundFX Designer

2D Designer (Character/Model Skins)
Map Designers
Static Mesh Designer

Web Designer - Must be fluent with multiple codings, and can do graphics

And you can find my contact information in my first post.

Thanks Again!

Since when is player base the most important thing to consider? Surely it should be about making the best mod you can, and having the most fun doing it.

I truely dispair sometimes.

We are making a mod for the people, not just for ourselves. This mod is for all of those old tac players looking for an update, and for all the new people looking for something new. This game is gonna be done VERY well, but it is based off another game, we simply chose an engine that was very user friendly so more people have the oppurtunity to experience this mod.
