Support of proxy on linux Thread

Apparently there is no proxy support for Linux. I would love to have proxy support because now for me Desura is simply unusable. I cannot download any game and even if I manage to connect to some non-proxy network I do not know if the game would work in multiplayer.

There are plans for supporting proxy on linux? Since most of the applications simply work using the http_proxy environment variable I hope this shouldn't be that hard to implement.

I have not found this proposal in the forums. If there is a active thread on this topic please point me there.

This would be nice, since it would mean I wouldn't have to mess around with a proxifier like proxychains.
