Has anyone used this contraption? It looks like fun, despite confusion. I know a fighter jet ain't like driving a car and I think it's neat that someone saw that realism in a mech. Could someone who knows what they're talking about explain it to me, just a bit? |

looks like it could be fun to play with the only problem is that on console most plane simulaters are not that good because they are designed with a controler in mind. edit: I still dont know what I am talking about. I never do - Edited By STRATCOM On Sat 7th, Aug 2004 @ 5:03:01pm -- "I may not know anything but at least I am smarter then 90% of the people out there." If i remember correctly, the little button inside the plastic lid on the right is the eject button, no? |
||

It's basically a keyboard with two joysticks, a speed handle thingy, and two pedals. I'm sure it doesn't take long to get used to it. I myself would probably be only using half the buttons anyway. I don't think I'd be willing to spend $150 for the controller followed by $50 for the game, no matter how popular it's getting. That's enough to buy a next-gen console almost. -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

I've looked for all the info I can, and found nothing but reviews for the game. I remember finding a site long ago which introduced me to the game, but I couldn't find it again. Turns out the game is this guy's lifelong dream. He wanted to make the most immersive mech simlulation possible, and it seems he's accomplished it. Really raises the bar for anyone with similar aspriations. |

He definitely accomplished wait, but I'll wait until the price dramatically falls until I go out and buy it. That way, I can share the experience. Such a attempt is really cool, because it can show what it'd be like when we have mechs in the future, and how they move and perform -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

difficult to learn, but actually pretty fun |
||

yeah I have it, Its kinda confusing but you get use to it. The game itself is prolly the worst game ever and has no replay value. The problem is, if you dont press eject before your mech explodes, it deletes your saved game. Meaning you have to start over. --

I guess he was going for max realism rather than the fun factor, so I think he did that for a reason... -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

I think it's a pretty neat idea. Although it would be ungodly frustrating, it would certainly keep you on your toes in the last half of the game |

first off the game is 200$ and I think most of the money is all about the big controller n then the game aside is 50$ soo ya n then its really confuseing on how to control the Mech but I would go for the basic MechWarrior game that was the best on the PC. |

and nobody has really answered my question yet... no worries. |

We explained it to you and told you whether or not we used the controller. What more do you want -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

I asked what the purpose of the buttons were. I know you can read, you're on the internet. I know it's a huge controller, i know it's expensive, i know every damn thing you've all spat at me except what the specific buttons do. I asked for information, not opinions, you illiterate morons. |
