I have myself a new mod idea which I think may make a bit more sense than the last idea I came up with, I’m once again looking for some feedback on this new idea, I’m pretty sure one day there’ll be an idea that a lot of people will like and it’ll just take off but anyways here's the early explanation of the mod. This mod is for HL2. Soul Sword In soul sword you join a multiplayer game and then choose a class and an element, your then thrown into the world to fight against hordes of monsters in co-operation with the other people on the server the environment is your standard MMORPG / RPG / Fantasy sort of world. Your goal in the mod is to progress through the level completing missions left scattered around the particular level your on, while killing monsters to progress to the next area (Like a more advanced version of "Phantasy star online" almost) your overall goal is to move from the start of the game to the end of the game and beat the end boss. You have your standard RPG "HP" and "Energy" bars, which allow you to do special attacks, you re-gain energy by killing monsters or based on the class you choose automatically regenerate some energy. Classes: Swordsman Special 1: Spiral burst (60 energy used) (creates a spiral based energy attack using element plugged in weapon) Special 2: Enraged fury (50 energy used) (STR x2) Monk Special 1: Heal (30 energy) (recovers 30hp) (heals team within a short range) (Can cause holy damage to demon type monsters) Special 2: Defence up (60 energy) (Increases defence of team within a short range) Special 3: Circle of light (80 energy) (Damage to all creatures, does 20hp damage per second to each monster in circle for 15 seconds) Archer Special 1: Explosive shot (50 energy) (1 arrow that does a biggish explosion and does 80hp damage to whatever it hits and 50hp damage to monsters in range) Special 2: Arrow rain (30 energy) (aim at a spot on the floor then computer automatically aims up and fires 20 arrows into the sky and they land in a small radius of where you aimed) (Standard Damage per arrow) Crests Crests are what are slotted into your weapon, it affects the look of your weapon and the properties of your weapon, every weapon will look crystallized with metal hilts or staffs depending on class. The crystal parts of the weapon will look relevant to the element your crest is aligned to. Available crests Wind crest __________________ Thats currently all the content i have going right now, i still need to create a final version of the design document and im looking for some feedback, or even someone to make a site and concepts =D. Hells yeah, son. If you make it even close to PSO, I'd definitely play that That'd be cool as a future endeavor... -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Its gonna be like PSO with its mission style play. Like say you defeat a set amount of monsters and move to the next area where you'll be ambush by dark monsters, defeating them brings on the boss which you all have to take down. Monks supporting with their healing and defence spells, archers taking the monsters down from a far and swordspeople taking the monsters down with their big crystal broad swords. GREAT! |

PSO was fun, but then it got too monotonous. -- When there is no more room in Hell, the Dead will walk the Earth. chis wrote: |

Then play Monster Hunter. It's almost the same thing, except there are dinosaurs, huge outdoor environments to run around in, and humongous, almost cartoon-looking weapons. It was very nice -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |
