Similar Games! Thread

Okay so this is a question that has been bugging me for a while now.

Basically I have been working on a game for a pretty long amount of time at this point under the radar, and recently one of the big developers Ubisoft have announced a game that I personally feel could potentially grab similarities to the style and characterization of my game.

This is where the similarities end in reality, my games is more puzzle rpg as opposed to the JRPG style of the Ubisoft title that is reminiscent of Dust: An Elysian Tail

So my question is... Is this a big deal? Should I be looking into ripping apart my game idea or would it be overlooked?

Personally I wouldn't recommend you continue with this idea. You will be accused for copying even if you have thought of the idea first and not even got inspiration from Ubisoft's game. Of course if this a big and well-made project people may find it interesting and entertaining and maybe with a few modifications you could make it happen and the fact that has similarities may be completely ignored.
