SAS 1.1 on the UT2004 engine is a direct port of version 1.1 from the UT2003 engine with a number of updates such as
new player and weapon skins, breakable glass, more bugfixes and an overall more polished version. For those not familar with SAS, the mod
focuses on the British, Australian and New Zealand SAS units going up against OpFor which is a collection of enemies they have faced
in the past, present and possibly future.

SAS has a large focus on realism, with ironsights, you select weapons; not buy them, a pulse system etc. Allthough not as realistic as other mods like RO, it has a nice balance between realism and gameplay.

Teams:

There are two teams to pick, either the special forces (represented are the JTF of canada, the SASR of Australia, the SAS of Britain, and the NZSAS of New Zeland). Or the Opfor, a mix of backrounds, representing many different terrorist groups from around the world. Both teams are realisticly portrayed, using reference pictures, real camo patterns and uniforms where appropriate.

(16) Weapons - broken down into pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, assault rifles and sniper rifles
(5) Equipment Selections - frag, flashbang and smoke grenades plus night vision and bincoluars
(3) SAS Player Models - with 13 skin variants covering desert, arctic, urban and counter-terrorism uniforms
(2) OpFor Player Models - with 12 skin variants converting military, para-military and terrorist uniforms
(2) Gametypes - Team Deathmatch and Objective where the goal is to capture certain locations on a map or defend them against the opposing team
(15) Maps - a mix of TDM and OBJ based maps with locaions includings a quiet residential neighborhood, downtown government center, Eqyptian excavation site, tehno club, and a remote villa
(4) Voice Packs - two for SAS and two for OpFor

To cater for our female audience we have a female character being made for each side, Opfor And SAS. Here is a preview of the RAF female, which will be included in a later release.

Also to be included in a future release is the RPK light machine gun, for the Opfor side. The SAS side will also be given an FN Minimi, which you can see in a previous update on the main site.
