Project SAFAN...HL2 Thread

Project SAFAN is current name for our horror mod.

Safan is the way they talk which is a low toned voice.

The current synopsis for the mod is your a rich man who lives at the top of a town called Boone. Mean while your at a home a group of aliens the locals call Snarlies (because of a snarl they make) attack, say theres only a small force, they underestimate us, get whooped after infecting a few citys alone. Humans that are infected are super zombies.

Thats your synopsis so far. Its liable to change at our will and below is the help we need.

Concept Arist ( To start drawing the Aliens, Zombies, Humans, vehicles, maps if you can draw any of these please help.)
Modelers ( To start making weapons and characters)
Skinners (To skin everyhting that is done)

I will have a plan up later, we have alot of ideas and an extremely tight plot hooked up, dont dismiss this as the usual alien, zombie v rich guy plot.

It has humans infected with alien DNA that mutate into diffrent forms.

Any one got any other questions if so I will try to answer them without releasing to much information on the mod.

do we get to use sharp pointy objects?

No you throw teddy bears at the monsters and hope you kill one : ........................... Yes you do and we will try to think of some unusual objects you can use.

unusual, so is it going to be a just out and out shooter, or will the weapons vary enuf to lend strategy to them?

There will be a strategy to using some of them others will be just for fun for the player to use.

I presume if you're using HL2 you can improvise on the way, since unless you're perched on top of a military compound you ain't gonna get AK47s lying around. i think maybe your flashlight to belt people with, a kitchen knife, and a pistol you found in your garage. From then on you can just pick up what's around, maybe stuff it in your backpack or pocket for later.

Well you come out of bomb shelter into your home, what weapons would you find in your home daily? Itll be just like that, if itswhat would happen in real life, stretched to the limits off the most outrageous possibility then itll be in there.

Well the great thing about half life 2, supposing what Ive read is right, any object, even an object not modeled with the hands and arm can be used as a weapon, if thats the case you can model hundreds of objects, give them mass and such and see how the game lets you use them.

If however its a case of modelling hands and weapons and not so free style then meh :/

it would be cool to mash in a zombies head with a coffee mug... or retreat back into ur room and smash a zombie over by chucking different computer parts

cds!!! think about how many cds u keep around ur house!!! those lil buggers could come in handy for chucking at people

Providing they all say AOL, Compuserv or Freeserve on the front. Preferably AOL. Or even MSN.

lol, fun thing to do with aol cds:

• take one, and hold a lighter under the center until it softens and starts to droop
• stick a m50 in the middle
• light the fuse, and huck it like a frisbee
• watch as the evil aol cd explodes into a fine mist of shrapnel

I am using no less than 4 around me at the moment. One has my coffee cup on, one in my clock (looks very swish), and two to act as general targets.

Ok back to subject... This mod will also have different outcomes from beginning to end. So your choices have an effect on the mod.

Your character will change depending on your routes, persay you meet a certain enemy with her own subplot then you will get a mouthfull of sick on your suite, this will knock your poshness meter down (not visible, something used to control the characters evolution and possible saying outcomes) as he evolves he might find he has more strength thus his punch and kick attacks power increases and his throwing distance will increase. Thats just a small part of what I see us doing.
