Perfect Dark - HL Thread

i pulled out perfect dark and decided to have a go, and i loved it, and thought it would be much nicer using a mouse to aim and a keyboard for movement, it would have all the original weaponry too, post feedback on the idea

i think that would be a pretty cool idea. If you got the skills to do it, go for it man.

thats the problem i dont , id like to learn to code, but it seems very complicated and stuffs, mapping in HL didnt work, i got about 50,000 errors from it after following tut's and modelling, dont even go there , i could get the sounds from it, my mic's half decent and so is my TV so i can do sounds

So you'd basically be stealing from the Perfect Dark on the console and put it on your TV? What a reputation to build

It's a really cool idea, but I suggest recruiting people to help. I myself can't do those kinds of things either, but people will start to respect you by how you come up with a game design doc and have the entire game in your head once you begun, where you have a vision for how you want it to look like. That's how I've gotten plenty of members for my team so far, and we're having a fun time on the project.

So, just write all your ideas down in a game design document, so interested team members can take a look at it. Just don't make it exactly like Perfect Dark, since people could just always play the console game, even if one is with a controller and the other is with a keyboard and mouse.

ok, basic idea of the game how i would like it so far - obviously multiplayer, same weapons as in PD most likely same sounds too, game type would be deathmatch and later on more modes, for example CTF and computer hacking (cant remember the name for this mode of play). possibly some server side options such as one hit kill and constant slow motion (not too slow) im sure more ideas will come to mind, but if anyone has any more ideas let me know - also the name of the mod would be something like "Perfect-Life" or "Dark-Life" to avoid copywright lol - also, get in contact with me via my email - gizmoholic2k4@hotmail.com for any queries/questions about it or anything related to the mod in general, i will work on getting a site and forums up but might not be anything fancy...

How about you instead you take a name from the mod itself, like Perfect Agent or something like that.

Taking a name and adding -Life to it has been severely overdone

yes, i suppose your right, Perfect agent would be good, i'll keep thinking up some ideas though

But ain't Perfect Dark 2 going to be on all consoles and PC? Thats what Ive heard.

i've heard only x-box so far

i never played perfect dark but i know its cool. it would be like goldeneye 007 on n64, that game was hella tight.

It's going to be on all the consoles, but I haven't heard a PC release.

EDIT: It's rumored to be an Xbox 2 launch title...

It looks....ugly. You have to do a lot of work to make it look presentable, that's for sure

I suggest having someone who knows how to make the site for you. I'm sure there's some willing web designers somewhere willing to help you out, since Perfect Dark is a popular series.

For a last resort, you could always find templates to use as your site layout.
