Arctika is still in flux as we search for a coder to replace Ziro whom left while I was gone for a few months. We are giving up trying to release a MP for HL but still want to get out a SP. For HL2 i have redesigned it to make it easier on coders and and modelers. This isnt for a job, obvoiusly the mod team is for fun, but I will pay for work on HL2. For our HL2 MP we just need 2 player models so if you can model and animate/skin please contact me. We have a newer weapons modeler but could use that also. Coding is fairly straight forward but unique at same time. Arctika.defconsoftware.com or Moddb.com - Edited By RacerXLR8 On Mon 13th, Sep 2004 @ 10:26:48pm |

Yeah at first starting a mod team (I created Sands of War), paying anyone wasnt an option. But when I left Sands (Defcon still supports it), I had trouble getting a player modeler or coder. Ziro left after getting a working weather system, but didnt leave the coding with me. Nuclear Freind left Defcon to work on another mod or game, but still idles alot and is willing to help a coder when he has extra time. After 1 year of modding I havent had a single player modeler/animator apply to help. I have mappers left and a skinner but a few mappers have already left because we have no coder. the mod team members that remain are great and supportive till the end, so I will do whatever I can to help get the mod going and paying a few hundred here and there wont break me. My mod team deserves it and my mod ideas come to life will be a fun mod to play. Ive totally redigned the mod for HL2 to make it as easy as possible on a coder and player modeler. A weapons artist would be awesome to compliment my ideas. Anyway thanks for the feedback, if you know anyone willing to work for free, wOot, but Im still willing to fork a few bucks out. |

I'm saying don't pay people because its just wrong for mods, I've seen people try to do this before, and it doesn't help at all. People will apply if they're interested, do stuff by yourself and your current team, don't wait on other people to join before working. This will get people to see that you really are working towards your goal of a release. |
