Parent a trigger to an npc? (Forums : Level Design : Parent a trigger to an npc?) Locked

I tried to parent a trigger and an env_beam to a Hunter. (half life 2 episode 2)

-On Start touch
Superkickasslaser (env_beam)
turn On (or activate)
-On trigger
electriclasersound
Play sound
-On End Touch
Superkickasslaser (env_beam)
turn Off (or desactivate)

And I used phys_damage to try and hurt the player.

Basically, the idea was when the player comes in contact with the trigger, the Hunter would shoot a huge laser beam damaging the player. And when the player would get out of the trigger, the laser would stop. I wanted to attach the trigger to the hunter's eyes and make the hunter rotate on himslef.

But it doesn't seem to work at all. The sound trigger doesn't even trigger so I know I already did something wrong. Is it even possible to parent a trigger to an npc? I know it's possible with moving brushes and props but I've never tried on npcs. Maybe it has something to do with the trigger's origin? Or maybe I'm not using the proper tigger type. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

what is your trigger type, and did you set up the laser in what ways because can't see what would make it go anywhere
