So, we have a concept for a game that takes place about 30 years in the future. You play as this commander. I was wondering if the loadout is too over the top (for the time period at least) : a six shot pistol, throwing knives, a bow staff, a tactical knife, a ropedart, and maybe an extendable sword. Also grenades.

Is this too much?

Just think about it. If you have a knife. What would you need a sword and a bow staff for? Or vice versa. Maybe give an options for one close range weapons and give each one it's pro's and cons. Ex. Knife has short range but allows you to throw them. Sword has a longer reach and does more damage. And something else for the bowstaff. Makes a little more sense and gives players more of a "play it your way" feel. But that's just me hope it helped!
