well, I've been thinking lately. and, I've decided to start on a new novel. yes, a novel, a book, whatever you'd like to call it(you won't believe the amount of people that have asked what a novel is). anyways, I've yet to come up with an idea of what it should be about, as well as a title. for whomever posts the greatest idea that I agree on, I'll give special thanks on the credits page. so, if you've ever wanted to become somehow 'popular' or 'famous', now's your chance! :P

by the way, please post ONLY idea's and title idea's. serious posts ONLY. I cannot express how dearly I hate flamers.

I've always wanted to see a children's book with a cat talking to the moon not realising the moon won't reply. That would be cute.

But I also think you should really make up your own plot.

hehe, sorry, but I should've mentioned...

I'm not that 'type' of writer. I'm more of the science fiction, war-based, and/or futuristic writer. if that changes your opinion, let it be for the good's sake.

P.S. - I've already had 2 novels from my own plot, and am now wanting to let someone else feel good when they sit back in their ole' rocking chair and open the book that they helped create. ;)

    Title: Seraph and the Pharohs

Idea: In the year of Osiris, a great being will visit the civilization of egypt and commense a meeting with the great pharoh of egypt. The son of the Great pharoh uncovered a dangerous secret about this Great Being.

Taking historical and facts about egypt, you can put together a fictional mystery about how the Pharoh of Egypt took hands with a alien ruler (God) from the Seraph race. Although this is totally fictional, you can have it so that the mystery unravels information on how the alien ruler found this planet (earth) and created a species called Humans. The Pharohs son will uncover that the Alien ruler doesn't need earth anymore, and will at all cost destroy earth. Its the pharohs son to save planet earth, and prevent the destruction of mankind.

Sorry for it being so rough. I hope you get what I'm talking about. ;)

You're just not easy to satisfy, huh? You know, if you just rewrote part of the bible, publicity would be easy to get (and tough to avoid too). You know, angels raping causing the birth of Christ, the hunger as Jesus starved for thirty days, that sort of stuff. If you make it dark enough, the fanatics will be all over you.

1947 A UFO crashes (rosswell) the survivers ask for aid in fixing there space craft. we want there tecnology but they refuse to give it to us because they dod not belive we were ready for it. an agreament is eventurally reached where we help them repair there craft and they would if help us out if we were to be attacked by another speceiace of aliens(the two alien groups are at war)

In 200- hostile alein craft destroys a top secret hypersonic millitary jet. the atacking alein craft are destroyed with a laser developed during the star wars program. we make a "call" to the aleins from rosswell and they give us the tecnology to acheive faster then light travel. A secret goverment agency is formed to battle the alein threat. all of this is done without the knowlege of most of the world. only countrys that help the US are great britian, russia, jappan, and france.
i do not know of a good name for it.

But I also think you should really make up your own plot.

I'm with that. To actually make an immersive and authentic novel you should have full creative control over it, meaning you should use your own ideas. However, since you said you only want serious ideas, here's one:

A French photojournalist returns home from Vietnam during the 1960's. He/She is assigned to interview a returned French veteran known only as "The Marionette" (if you don't know what a Marionette is, you shouldn't be writing novels ;)). It takes off from there in whatever moral direction you'd like, with the photojournalist uncovering horrible details from The Marionette's wartime experiences. It could possibley begin at a war memorial sometime in the future (90's) and tell the rest of the story through a prolonged flashback. For this to be successful depends primarily on your skill as a writer, as it focuses more on storyline and characters than action.
