I suggest that mod profiles and personal profiles not register their owner's views/visits. |

Why not? |

Because people can bump up the number by keep clicking on it. Personally seems a bit silly but whatever... |

It's not silly if you're the owner of an account who wants an accurate representation of the popularity of his profile. |

if someone really wants to be cheap and lame thats his/her problem. It's not going to help them if the mod isnt popular anyway. So if they need this to boost their ego, so be it. -- OMG it's teh Raaaaammmbooo!!! |

By popularity I meant the rate at which people frequent your profile. It's the same as analyzing webstats. It has nothing to do with ego man, it's just something to give you the gist of how much traffic your profile is getting. Edited by (in order): nervousquirrel, nervousquirrel, nervousquirrel |

Huh? You're an idiot. Why do you think I don't want to be included in my mod's statistics? |

Also you frequent your member and mod profiles more often than you think. Mid 30's in percentage of unique hits is probably the average for a fairly popular mod. --

If you want that, I recommend Moddb hiring someone to clean the news posts that have unnecessary posts in them, like mine, which is chocked full of poker hobbyists -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

dude i meant that some people are happy/proud if they see that their mod has been visited many times because it looks just like it's popular (which, very often, is not the case). And for some, seeing a high number also boosts their ego (I have accomplished something --> I am cool!). I have no clue why, but it does (This does obviously not go for me). So, to get this "proud" feeling people might just keep clicking on the profile.
Thats not to bad... im only at 392 :/ Edited by: TheRambo -- OMG it's teh Raaaaammmbooo!!! |
