Anyone seen the movie "Enemy at the Gates"
well i think it would be cool to make a mod sorta based on it, it would be a fps for the source engine. It would be a set on ww2 themed maps in which snipers hide and try to take each other out. When you start the game you pick your camoflauge and the then rifle you want. all you get is a knife and a sniper rifle

You could have several game modes like:
free for all - you are on your own
team - you have to work with your teammates
team rescue - you must rescue a teammate who is being held in a large open area

maps would be destroyed cities fighting in amongst the rubble, tunnels and pipes to crawl throught etc. the maps would need to be quite detailed. you randomly spawn on the map in free for all but in team spawns for team battles. Different terrain would allow for different camoflague etc.
I have also considered antother class for the team modes called a Decoy he gets knife, pistol and a helment he is quicker than the sniper and also gets to choose camoflague. If he gets hit in the helemt he loses no health but his helmet is knocked off, he can of course then pick it up again.

lol, there are so many sniper mods that tried to get "enemy at the gates". None of them turned out to be successful YET. It would be awesome on source though. Go for it, but you do realize that everyone's gonna camp and wait for each other to move. It would almost be like playing Eternity of Chess.

that's kinda how the movie went and the effect i was going for i thought that the Decoys could break the stalemate in team games by forcing players to reveal their positions.

sounds good, but I would prefer it if one can have more weapons than the sniper, for example Hkdefense.us or Hkdefense.us . Both are Heckler & Koch...

yeah that would be alright but i wanted the main focus to be on sniping

There is a sniper mod for Source... but it doesn't mean you can't go a head and make it for any orther engine, or even Source.
