Need an idea for a game. Thread

Hey, I am currently studying game development and i really need some ideas of what to do.I have thought and thought and thought but get nothing.By the way,only ideas that would probably be E rated or T.

Well, what skills do you have? Any programming, art asset creation or developer skills? I'm thinking of getting a real inventive project rolling, and if you've got something to offer (I'm purely basic programming and design), then I'd be willing to work together on a project.

Why not make a game that's based off of a game you like? It doesn't have to be exactly like a game you like, but it can be similar. Like, a side-scroller that's similar to Super Mario Bros., or an adventure game that could be like Legend of Zelda, but with a twist, for a couple examples.

Well whatever you guys planning on, I'm up to do sound and music for it! Some logo designs if you eventually need any too! If you're still thinking of anything

What kind of game do YOU want to play? Think of all your favorite features of different games and start with that. Try to come up with an idea that you like and that you would want to play. Write down every idea, then go back and extend on each. Take your favorite parts of all your ideas and try to blend them somehow that would be fun and interesting. Pitch some ideas to other people and see what their input is and work off of it. Great game ideas aren't born overnight....or maybe they are

Hmm perhaps you could work on a game inspired by a nice childrens book like

Of course they will require you get some sort of permission of you get too close to the art styles or story lines .. but sometimes its possible to get that permission.

or here is an old idea I had from long ago : A game in which your a pigeon your aim shouldn't be too focussed on one thing but numbers of items including pooping on pedestrians ,parked cars and even moving ones , watch out for nasty birds and cats that will try to eat you
