Hello,

I thought of the craziest idea for ModDB to make... "MovieDB," not mods, but movies. This website (created by ModDB), would have everything for 3D done movies and TV shows, and Camera rolled movie and TV shows (plus animation TV shows and movies). Same how ModDB has everything for mods. This website would include:

-Awards
-ModDB Oscars
-ModDB Emmy
-ModDB Nominations
-ModDb Wins

-TV Channels
-Would present newest and most popular TV shows and Movies made by members of that website.
-Premieres and advertisements for Movies and TV shows made from MovieDB

-Top 100 Movies list

-Top 100 Shows list

-You can setup your own Movie or TV Show page like ModDb, with all the info and setup like ModDBs Game and Mod Pages
-There would be a images section
-There would be a videos section (trailers and clips)
-News section
-Cast and Crew section
-Behind the Scenes section
-Ratings and Reviews

-Able to pay to have your movie or TV show advertised

-Setup your own group or media company (of course)
-Recruit members or members can join (with permission)
-Where you'd set up your ideas for the movie or TV show your making
-Group discussions (text or video) for your movie or TV show
-You can recruit actors (or voices if animation or 3D media), music composers, directors, special affect crews and all of the rest of the cast and the crew that you can have a big picture supported by the MovieDB website.

-Uploading news, trailers, clips, more and your movie or episodes of your TV Show would be like uploading things on ModDb

-Release date for the next episode or your movie is shown to the public

-MovieDB productions has to be included in either your beginning or end credits or just both (but you can choose and decide whether or not if you want to have your company or group production to be presented in the beginning and end credits).

-Every time a TV Show or Movie is uploaded to the website the movie or TV show will be sent to IMDB

-And of course the a lot of the shows and movies will be put on Netflix if possible

-That’s all I can think of, you can choose and decide improvements to this MovieDB site if ever even published and made by ModDB, and also this poll at the top has to have more percentage of yes’s than no’s.

Great suggestion, but it already exists! IMDB = Internet Movie Database.

That site is actually what inspired me to create the DBolical network (ModDB, IndieDB, IndieDB) and while i'd love to make MovieDB, I'm not sure anyone would visit.

I know I even have a account at IMDB, what I mean is you make the film not look at the stats of the film, you make a movie with a team of people.

I've reviewed movies on IMDB before and made a few lists on IMDB, I've even made some parents guides on some of the movies.

I like that idea. I'm thinking more on the animation and machinima level simply because that streamlines it and helps keep it in line with the fact that these are primarily databases dedicated to game content, but it would be amazing for me to find a community dedicated to helping make movies or animation or even machinima. We 'had' one with Machinima.com before it went down the tubes, and we have communities dedicated to showcasing Machinima in the form of Gorillagong, why not a website dedicated to making them?

I agree with you

Sounds like a good idea but it would kinda be hard not to make people think it is a rip-off of ImDb or not get into legal trouble. Mondo way past cool idea, though.
