An ambitious and wide-ranging total conversion of Bethdesa’s Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, the Middle Earth Mod is one of the largest Mod projects in production for the game engine, encompassing the literary work of one of the 20th century’s greatest writers, in possibly the most iconic of all fantasy worlds, set prior to the War of the Ring, from “Lord of the Rings”. The MeMod forums currently have over 30,000 Registered members, with a website approaching the 1 million hits per year mark, and are home to a large and eager fanbase.

The MeMod staff are currently seeking to expand the current team and add talented artists across and range of 2D Traditional Media and Digital Media disciplines, and in organic and manufactured 3D modelling to allow growth in the existing team structure. Working solely from the canonical literary sources of J.R.R. Tolkien’s literature, we are currently seeking artists of exceptional vision and ability who can create the literary vision without undue influence from recent film and computer-games interpretations of the literature.

Positions and areas of the team that are currently being augumented are as follows:

Conceptual Visualisation and design, with traditional and digital artists welcome.
Contextual design, again traditional and digital media.
2d Texture mapping, principally with Nvidia DDS file formats.

3D modelling (preferably using 3DS Max, although other applications can be catered for), for use into the Netimmerse engine.
Organic Modelling,
Engineering modelling.

With an existing team structure that is in the process of expansion, this is an opportunity to have a say in the look and feel of the most iconic of fantasy worlds.

As a completely non-profit Game Mod, we can offer no financial incentive to join, but all members are equally encouraged to use the work for their personal development and Portfolio use, with full rights to identify their work as their Intellectual Property for self promotion. A number of existing the members are industry experienced artists, designers and producers, and their skills and resources are available for all members to benefit from. More importantly, we would like to offer a design ethos and team that is being developed into a close-knit community with our uniting passion for the created world of Middle-Earth.
