I made a demo showing some of the sprites I made with it here: Pugetsoundtraining.com I just prototyped this last night and was thinking of features to add so a person can choose from a large selection of animated 3d models, change lighting and camera angle to get the look they want (daytime/nighttime and preset camera isometric, dimetric, top down + free form camera adjustment) then press the generate button and get a sprite sheet with 8+ frames all 256x256 and are aligned perfectly. I was thinking of bundling assets in it and releasing as an exe where you can customize and generate sprites from the assets until the cows come home as it outputs a png atlas with 8+ frames. I could make the number of frames customizable, the size of the atlas you want back, size of the tiles, etc.... The first pack would have 25-50 animated models like animals and characters. I'd then release further packs such as castle segments and inanimate stuff that you can make 256x256 tiles from with the click of a button. Also the video is made in my mobile project, building for PC/Mac(final release) would have much higher resolution models than shown in the video. What do you think I should add or focus on? I should re-emphasize IT"S JUST A PROTOTYPE, it would be much more polished before releasing. (obviously cropping out the pink background and syncing animation with shot intervals) Edited by: shindig |

Wow that's really awesome, could help people making mods for games such as age of empires. Are you planning to share your program to the public or keep it private. |

Hey I've been working on it for a few more days now. Now it removes the pink color with the alpha channel and saves with a transparent background. I made a little webpage where I threw some sprites generated from my generator that are animated with javascript/jquery: Pugetsoundtraining.com Check out these different rendering options I set up: I was hoping to find 3d modelers to partner with and bundle their content with my generator in "packs" for like $5-$10 and probably a free version without content.
