I'd like to make a game. However, I know of no tutorials or programs to use. So, my question is what do you think is a good program for a beginner? And please, if you know of a tutorial for a game, link it. Thank you so much. (If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize. I didn't know where to put it.) |

Starting with a game if you haven't worked on anything else beforehand is tough, especially if you want to do it independently and create the team yourself. I would highly recommend you start with something else to gather some experience and maybe people for your team as well. If you nevertheless want to start with a game, I can recommend a couple of different engines and programs with good tutorials: 1.) Blender 3D. Blender.org It is good for 3D design, but it can do more than just that. You can create a lot of different stuff with it, and the website itself provides tons of tutorials for beginners and more advanced users: Blender.org 2.) Unity 3D. Unity3d.com It is good for making games, I've used it before, many others use it, and it is actually quite popular. It also offers quite a lot of tutorials even on the website: Unity3d.com 3.) CryEngine. Cryengine.com It is obviously a very good program, though my personal experience shows that it is a bit more difficult to use than the previous two. It also provides less tutorials, though I think YouTube has a few good ones. All the stuff above can be found on the internet, I think at least the last two also on ModDB. Edited by: Yldrania |
