Link reviews to a specific version Thread

Currently reviews for a game or mod apply to the game/mod as a whole, not a specific version. This is a problem when many indie games are releasing alphas and early demos because the reviews will be applicable only to the version available at that time.

Linking reviews to a particular version, just like the Apple App Store, would allow reviews of early versions to be archived automatically, and allow the score to be more representative of the current state of the game/mod.

While a fantastic idea (one we have on our list) it will need a significant upgrade to how the site works, it will also require the developer to update the current version of the game/mod on the profile itself along with any download/news that is posted.

The other option is that we could link reviews to downloads, however not all downloads reflect a new version so it will be all over the place. Something we will continue to think about.
