Just a simple Co Op mod... nothing more! Thread

I feel I have to ask this:

Is there going to be a mod to Half Life 2 that does NOTHING MORE than provide the ability for another player to journey along in the script? it doesn't matter if one is FReeman and the other is just along for the ride, as long as the game can accomodate both and the story moves...

...but I just want to play the game, as is (I can bump difficulty up if necessary) with the necessary alterations in script and perhaps enemy number in some areas. I don't want new weapons, or uber enemies.

Is this likely? And anyone have any idea on the Synergy release date? I'll gladly test it with a friend if you need more testers...

I believe that Gmod can do most of the things you need, just the fact the you can "Bump the difficulty up if necessary" is un do-able in gmod at the mo but you can turn all weapons off in the server options so you dont get an rpg on teh first level . but u just have to put up wid the physics gun and other gmod features. just tell them if they use them they are banned..w00t. Hope that helped.
