For the first time in my life, i have opened a virus/trojan. Sophos.com

Is it bad? It doesnt sound that bad to me. Do you think i can remove it? Thanks.

that last point makes it very bad if you're not properly firewalled.

were you actually infected or did someone just send it to you?

someone sent it to me and it was scanned twice and is a text file. i had no idea that it could be a virus. dumbass me. do you think its removable?

update: i scanned my computer and found 1 virus and quarantined it. that might of been it. if not, i will just have to forget about it. thank god it wasnt something really bad...

I think it's terminal. You'll have the throw away your hard drive and eat your RAM.

and maybe cool the rest of the comp down with a gentle stream of water

And here we go again, german virus using the Soccer World cup as a cover(yes we're always the bad guys, go check the movies...).
If I were you, chunky, I wouldn't just forget about it. I would really try to get it off my hdd since its not only you who might be infected, but also everybody in your email address book.

lol, guys i already posted that i would forget about it and move on. it's a small weak virus which i might have removed anyway. thanks for the support though.

Bwahar! I have McAfee. It constantly scans my computer, and it simultaneously scans what I'm doing online, just incase a trojan file is floating around on a site.

For the record, there has never been a problem with ModDB, other than the occasional down time.
