OK heres my idea for a source mod - Nightmare Hunters
there will be 2 teams fight each other kinda like CS
one team is humans
one team is nightmarish monsters
The map types should be like
-humans trying to escape or turn on some sorta device
-humans trying to kill the monsters
-both teams are trying to destory somesorta important object/base
-humans have to defend a bunker for a set amount of time
The thing is that the monsters don't really have weapons and so they use stealth and traps to beat the humans. All the levels should be dark and the humans have their flashlight ON ALWAYS while the monsters have a monsterish nightvision.
The humans will get credits so they can buy stuff like-
SMG
Rifles
Machine Guns
Sniper
Armor
Grenades
Flares
shotguns
handguns
The monsters get to choose their class and type-
-small class-
1small very small 3 legged crawly thing that jumps around and walks on walls/ceilings
2fast moving evil looking humanoid monster with evil blade
3flying ghost creature that can kill people and then take over their bodies
-mid class-
1creepy bugish thing that can drop down from the ceiling and pull up humans to eat them
2acid shooting monster
3very dark monster that can meld with the ground/walls and only appear as a shadow when he does
-big class-
1Diablo looking mofo with a charge attack
2fourlegged huge slow monster with laser beam breath
3giant guy made of evil stone/metal/bones that attack with crushing power and has really high hp
Just imagine this
A group of 6 armored soldiers are sent into a abandoned base to activate a computer mainframe that will send a message to their HQ. As they walk pass an old rotating fan they hear scurring and all point their flashlights at the loaction of the noise. scared but still full of energy they continue forward down into a partialy flooded boiler room with the knowledge that they are being watched. then AHHHH! that one soldier that was trailing behind screams before he disapears. The room falls deathly silent. the soldiers point their lights in every direction to see where the monster was hiding. All of a sudden someone screams and gun fire erupts. The bullets are sent flying into the monsters but their small size is hard to hit so one of the men tosses a grenade into the monster's face BOOM. A split second later a large ugly beast charges through the smoke and crushes 2 soldiers in an instant. Somehow the remaining soldiers take it down and scramble to the control room of the base while being chased by all sorts of evil monsters. just before reaching the room the men are snacthed up by ghosts and killed. the only sound that can be heard is a from flashlight rolling on the ground.
