I can't get Brutal Doom to work Thread

Hi, I have been trying to get the Brutal Doom mod to work, but everytime I download GZDoom, copy and past both the DOOM.WAD and brutal19.pk3 files into the sourceport, and customize the controls, the mod won't function. I thought I followed the installation pretty thoroughly, but it is apparent I missed something. Thanks for taking the time to read this and any help is really appreciated.
