Hockey Mod Thread

This is my idea after playing International Online Soccer for quite a while...Hockey. I want this mod to be multiplayer only, it'll work a lot like IOS that when you join a game you'll be prompted with which team you want to join and what position you want to play. The differences are...well...that it'll be hockey, not soccer and you can gain control of the puck (something you can't do with the ball in IOS, as far as I know). I want to include international teams and some of the major D-I NCAA teams. I'd include NHL teams, but I'm not sure if it's legal, and then all NHL arenas would have to be included (which I think would make the mod unnessicarily larger). If anyone is helping out I'd definetly start it up. I can make the website, do some of the sounds and some of the music. I also can't claim to be a hockey expert (I know a little bit about it) so I'd need somebody to help out with that, too. Another problem is that I'm not sure what game to mod, now that Half Life 2 is out I seriously doubt that anyone would care that another Half Life mod is coming out, no matter how unique it is. But then again I'm not sure if you'd be able to mod Half Life 2 that much.

Skater:
W=Forward
A=Move Left
S=Move Right
D=Backwards
F=Stop
E=Gain Control of Puck
Spacebar=Stickhandle
Shift=Sprint
Q=Check
CTRL=Stick 'chop' (you chop where you aim)
Left Mouse=Shoot (hold longer for more power, quick click for wrist shot, aim high for air)
Right Mouse=Pass (hold longer for more power, aim high for air)

Goalie:

Sounds good; I like the idea. But it might be difficult to find people to help you (I can't).

I have a hockey mod called Stained Ice But it is probably a bit more violent than this

lol, yeah if I made this mod, it'd be all about realism...well...as real as I can make it while modding a FPS

Wow. I just started NHL Source for HL2 (Name pending, I dont think that will sit well with the NHL and all ) I was going to shout it out on the forums but this looks like an nice place to discuss.

I never saw this post but I have a similar control scheme in mine, except, I think that with HL2 you can do some nifty things with stick handling, and physical interaction.

As for teams, I honestly could care less at the moment. NHL teams would be great but legal issues probably wouldnt allow it. I'm not sure the NCAA would like the use of their logos either. yea... The most important thing to do at first is get the game play down.

The only difference between our Mod Ideas is the HL1 and HL2 part. Regardless, I'd love to collaborate on it, so I'll give you pm matt3.
