What about a mod about the war between the mobile infantry and the bugs. Instead of the bugs if could be the antlions. The human side would have vehicles such as jumpships and jeeps while the bugs/antliions would just have to rely on numbers and there power. I dont think it would be all that difficult because a lot of the stuff you would need is already in hl2. Edited by: Brad_Mclain --

just out of curiosity didn't you see that there was a topic with "Starship TRoopers!" just a few posts down? Yet you needed to start another thread about it? This idea has been suggested a few times by now.. |

Well actually, a Combine vs Antlion, perhaps call it Sand Traps in homage, would not be that difficult to do, simply convert the combine armored vehicle to be drivable and fully usable, build a few maps using the perimeter shockwave defense systems already in place, including things such as generators and power cables, then grant use of the larger ant lions to the players, as you'll note these are actually controller types as well, hence why you can't have ant lions fight htem and why they can come with their own ant lions, and have a similar pheromone direction capability inside a large armored shell that can crush people. When combine die, they have to wait to be deployed in a drop ship wave respawn style, when the lions die they respawn as a smaller one rather quickly, able to sense the pheromones of the larger. When all generators and such are removed, the ant lions win, when all of the large ant lions are dead, the combine win. Infact, I'll go into further detail if anyone wants to utilize that. |

Yeah i was thinking of a combine vs antlions or antlions vs humans as the basic idea. I just said starship troopers cause that was what made me think of the idea. i like your idea vangor that was kinda what i was thinking, except make the dropships flyable so you can be evacuated if nessecery and call in air support. Give the antlion team far superior numbers and make the combine/humans rely on technology. I didn't want to make a starship troopers mod just the idea of the bugs vs humans/combine.
