OK! Just to add an original idea to the forums... how about a puzzle like game for HL2? Here is my idea: There will be various levels, each level increasing in difficulty. You start out in the middle of this arena with "Bad guys" spread out everywhere in set positions for each level (They all stand still). You are given a magnum or rifle (undecided) and you must find a way to kill every person in the stadium with one bullet. There will be props located around the entire area that you can use to take out all the guys but you must remember you are given only ONE shot. The type of props depend on the difficulty of the level. In each level there will be at least one or two ways to take out all the guys using the props and physics of HL2. With each level increasing in difficulty you will be given less and less props to work with (Or props that are harder to use), Thus encouraging you to become more and more creative as the game continues. For example: There are three enemies scattered out around the area, you notice a truck hanging by two chains. You shoot one of the chains and the truck swings down and around, killing two of the enemies then hits a lever that drops a washing machine on the other guy. After this is completed... you win the level and move on to a harder one. i dont think this would be hard to make. All that is really needed are some maps with props set up in the right spots and maybe a little coding and alot of creativity. If you are interested please post . Me and BLinks just talked on AIM, and I came up with an idea. Instead of having the items already set up around you, you get CERTAIN items near you, a gravity gun, and a gun with one bullet. Use the grav gun to set up the items in a way that can kill the opponent, and use your pistol to start off the reaction. Ropes will be included. Use the grav gun to attatch one end of the rope to an object, and use on the other end for another object. Leave your comments. Multiplayer: Two players, start off in the same manner as single player, on two different fields sperated by a wall and a door. Set up a booby trap on your side and go kill the opponent on the other side. Lure him into your traps or use his traps against himself. It will take speed, logic, and quick reaction. Good luck. -- "Remember...the enemy has only images and illusions, behind which he hides his true motives. Destroy the image and you will break the enemy." - Enter the Dragon |

hey bro, I don't think it will take off though, because when I play hl2 or css, I'm wanting to massacare a bunch of people, not do a puzzle so my brain will have to work... |

Hmmm...after thinking a while...this might make a decent multiplayer game...for my cousin and me at least... *EDIT* (Sorry, just noticed the Modify button ><) Anyways, another thing is you could jump on floating pieces of material to move around, we're not going to make you stay on one floating piece of cardboard or something. :p Edited by: awchang331 -- "Remember...the enemy has only images and illusions, behind which he hides his true motives. The idea of it is not to have replayability but to get to levels so hard that it takes a while to beat them. -- The smilie knows best. |

why not just make a small deathmatch mod with a one shot one kill pistol? |

I like this idea. It's something a bit different to the standard. There's no reason why an FPS engine has to be used for an FPS. -- Defeat in Detail 2 - Standalone RTS Game |

I think all of you are getting the wrong idea of what this mod is about. This is just basically one of those games that you play for a while and get addicted to, but all in the same time you hate it and wanna throw your comp out the window because it gets so damn hard. This would not be a major accomplishment nor would it be that hard to make. I dont expect it to have extreme amounts of replayability until new levels, or a new version come out for the mod. Basicaly I just want this to be a game that you can sit down and play when you get bored and have nothing else better you can or want to do. I dont think multiplayer for this mod is really necessary unless its used to show off your score or something of the sort. There should be two different types of game play, one where you get to set up the items any way you want and the second you have to use the item layout given to you. As for bullet time.... it might be cool to have it coded to go into bullet time or slomo when a person gets hit with a prop or something but eventually this would get annoying if it was about your 5th time playing through the game so I suggest that you be able to turn the bullet time off. the only thing is if I go to start the mod I am only a weapons modeler and most of this game would be mapping and coding... therefore i would have to be the mod leader and get a team. So the chances of this mod taking off are 0-1000 just because of the lack of people that are available to mod or have any modding skills at all. Didnt spell check . If this is ANYTHING like halfquake amen (and if you haven't played that mod SHAME ON YOU) then I'll definitely play it for the pure insanity of it. But it's gotta be at that extreme level to keep me captivated, so if you're just using 'normal' textures, that takes a lot of fun out of the game. And also, if you want a ballsy game name, go for 'frustration' And you can contact me. I have some definite game ideas |
