HL flashlight help Thread

Is it possible to change the flashlight light to have a more softer edges. Its too ugly to me. And it will benefit to my new mod.

I like the flash light, i like to create levels that are real dark with zombies n then you can only use the flash light to see them, fun stuff

there is one level in sven coop when that happens, sooo cool

make it so you dont even have a flashlight, and have to fight by muzzle flash :o

its pitch black, and the only light you get is your muzzle flash... you could trapped in an area with HUGE amounts of ammo, but you also have to use your gun as a flashlight, would be kinda cool

oh like shoot so the guy sparks or whatever make light, ive done that before

same here, but i don't know...i think that would be too hard/a pain in the ass if u have to do it forever:P

Hey, can someone find or help me to work on my mod. Its actually a Egyptian Action/Adventure game. At the time I need a coder, and I need them to code in a way to have a dynamic light show when you fire. So that it can shine and show whats around the player. And I was planning so that I can have a lighter, that can be used to light up the surroundings. Do you think that would be cool?

I can get some screenshots for you people if someone would like to code for me

you would have unlimited ammo for that section, or be in a mounted turret or something

BTW that matches idea is great. Now only if I can code it in. DAMN, I need a C++ program on cd, called VB C++. I can't download, but at least I can model detailed matches.

If it's a HL mod, there was a good tut on the collective for the muzzle flash :=)

i think it would be really cool to have a scripted event where you walk in this room and the lights go out, and he lights a match, and you see huge amounts of ammo on the ground, and the guy says something to the effect of "hmm, a new flashlight" and then monsters start coming for you, and you have to use the muzzle flash light to see... which would lend to really cool strobing effects in the lighting
