I'm just a fresh out of college illustrator looking to get into game development. I have limited coding experience (HTML, PHP/MYSQL, Actionscript, and C++), of which I have only dabbled in mostly. I'm looking to start focusing on animating for games, and even developing my own games because I think I'm capable. Basically, I'm looking for guidance on getting started. I'd like to focus on pixel oriented animation and development, so if anyone had any resources they could throw my way, as far as pixel art or where I might start to create my own application (what engine I might want to use), it would be greatly appreciated. And hey, if you have anything you might want me to be a part of, I'd be happy to help you out. Anyway, hi!

Hi SpanishFlea! While I don't know much about Pixel Art, I am an experienced coder. And I'd highly suggest getting into Unity

for making games. Not only is it free, but its probably one of the best engines I've worked with. It runs in C# instead of C++,

but I've studied both. And C# isn't too different from C++, you shouldn't have a hard time getting into it if you already know one of the C languages.
