Hey guys,

I've got this thread going on another board, and since this board has one for audio I figure I should share it here too :) it's dedicated to all my favorite game tunes, tracks or game albums.

Retro to the recent stuff, I'll be sharing it all and probably some of the memories behind them, since I like to think most gamers are nostalgia junkees like myself.. or just hope so Big Laff

I'll start with some World of Warcraft stuff..despite it being such a recent game, anyone who played, or maybe still plays, knows how captivating this game was able to be.

Youtube.com WoW - BC - Login Screen (first playing WoW)
Youtube.com WoW - Wotlk - Storm Peaks (late night farming/questing with ventrilo)
Youtu.be WoW "classic" - Plains music (orc shaman starting area, first character back in 2007)

few favorites that come to mind

throwing out some favorites from Super Metroid this time:

Youtube.com Lower Norfair - composition wise it's so simple, but it worked well with the atmosphere of that area and how hard-as-hell the game was getting building up to Ridley. I forgot to mention it's the first time I heard artificial vox being used in game music, and it caught me Grin
Youtube.com Maridia - the octave changes, minor (i'm assuming)sound, and off-melodies with the overall look of this place really made it feel like a haunted, abandoned, underground flooded base..and that creepy low-bass, and something as subtle as the alternating-panning in the stereo image for the off-melody
Youtube.com Mother Brain (who saw this coming)
One of my favorite final bosses of all time, despite it being near-brainless and impossible to lose (I have though) just because of how built-up it was, and the use of the super metroid.. which brings it to
Youtube.com those starting booms and brass are forever burned into my brain. Samus had her own theme and it was used perfectly and came through strong at the end of the game again, at the perfect time.

I can say I just enjoy the whole ost Addicted.good times

few more favorites.. this time Castlevania Symphony of the Night (SOTN)
I'll do this in this system.. any fan of this OST knows the usual "favorites" from the game.. so I'll give two usuals, two unusuals, then two more usuals Shrug
(1)Youtube.com - Dance of Illusion - for it's time, this is probably the biggest sounding orchestral piece I heard back then in the Playstation 1 days, and for a boss like Dracula and so early in the game it made a big impact. I like all its remixes over the years for future games also, they always changed it up just a bit.
(2)Youtube.com - Dracula's Castle - Who didn't see this one coming Big Laff .What a way to start the game, in a fresh new way for the time I should add with the SOTN system being new in the CV series, not to mention after that crazy prologue/backstory with the Dracula/Trevor fight that you just played.
1Youtube.com - Enchanted Banquet (Succubus Fight) - After watching a succubus portray your dead mother and try to trap you in her charm only to have this kick in just before you fight her, only one word came to mind.. kill Mock Anger .
the vox or "singing lady" I'd call her back then was the best I heard in video games too, at the time.
2Youtube.com - Marble Gallery - As soon as this beginning organs kick in, I instantly remember that beautiful but annoying marble area that I spent so many deaths at... Which brings me to
Bonus~
Youtube.com - Tower of Mist - A slowed down, orchestral arrangement of the previously just heard/played level, Marble Gallery.
(1)Youtube.com - Lost Painting - I have to confess, this is mainly nostalgia. Being from New York City and getting this game for Christmas in 97' as a kid, this tune matched the atmosphere of my life at the time more than anything, even the game itself. I still remember the snow falling outside of my window while I was playing this area. I was also raised with Christmas, so that plays into it. Still, I think it's a favorite for most people
(2)Youtube.com - Tragic Prince - Last one, and I think most would see this one coming too. It was just so rockin' Crazy
Second Bonus
Youtube.com Maplestory - Crimsonwood PQ - Not castlevania at all, but when I heard this you can guess what I immediately thought of. I'd say the influence of Tragic Prince is there but the composer really put his own spin on it.
dassit' Beer! There's too many favorites in CV:SOTN too Sad
